David is a Partner and Portfolio Manager at RECan and is the President of PG Asset Management. In addition to his responsibilities at RECan, David is responsible for Investment Strategy and Asset Sourcing at PG Asset Management. David has 31 years of experience in the Canadian Commercial Real Estate industry within executive management in both private and public entities.

David was previously Senior Vice President and Fund Manager at Fiera Real Estate Investment which is the Real Estate investment platform for public company Fiera Capital (TSX: FSZ.TO). Prior to this David was President of IAM Real Estate Group, a public company, where David oversaw all aspects of the business including the management of closed and open funds in excess of CAD $1B. These funds had an investor base of Canadian Institutional Pension Funds, Endowments and High Net Worth individuals.

David has extensive experience in fund management, fund creation as well as asset analysis and direct asset acquisitions.

Todd is a Managing Director at RECan and a Partner/Chief Investment officer at PG Asset Management. In addition to his executive responsibilities at RECan and PGAM he focuses on asset sourcing, transaction management, asset management, and finance. He has 25 years of progressive experience in the real estate industry in Canada.

Todd was previously Executive Vice President, Acquisitions for Cominar REIT (TSX: CUF.UN) where he was responsible for Cominar’s investment program and their secured debt requirements throughout Canada. During his time at Cominar he was responsible for over $4 billion CAD in acquisitions and dispositions along with over $1 billion CAD in debt financing. He was previously responsible for portfolio asset management at Cominar, and prior to that was CFO of Overland Realty, a publicly-traded real estate corporation. 

Bernhard is a co-founder, Managing Director and Funds Manager at RECan. Based in Luxembourg, he provides executive management services to RECan along with responsibilities for capital structure, finance and reporting. Dr. Engelbrecht also maintains responsibility for regulatory compliance in Luxembourg and oversees the relationship with our independent fund partners (Pancura, Pandomus, Hauck & Aufhäuser, Baker Tilly, Colliers International).

Bernhard has many years of experience as CFO and managing director of regulated and unregulated fund structures. He has experiences in setting up and running CSSF and BaFIN supervised AIFM´s. Bernhard has more than 20 years of experience in investing in real estate as well as private equity with investments of more than 10 billion Euros.

Sven is the co-founder and driving force behind RECan Global. As Managing Director, he acts as the main link between the RECan team in the EU and in Canada. In addition to his executive responsibilities at RECan he focuses on Investor Relations, Strategy and Business Development. Sven has over 20 years of experience linking EU-based investors with investment opportunities in Canada and he has a very strong understanding of the investment process between the EU and Canada.  As a German citizen with Permanent Resident status in Canada Sven moves freely between the EU and Canada.

For approximately 10 years Sven acted as President & CEO of Ventusolar Inc. in Canada and Ventusolar Global Capital GmbH in Germany where he created and lead a similarly-structured Luxembourg based investment fund focused on Canadian green energy projects, connecting EU component manufacturers  and investors with green energy developers, utilities and government officials in several Canadian provinces.  In addition, Sven acted for over 15 years as international film producer with focus on equity financing structures and as a university lecturer at the Munich Business School for more than 10 years.

Ian handles CFO duties at both RECan Global and PG Asset Management and also takes on responsibilities for multi-residential asset sourcing and transactions, and asset management along with taxation and structuring.

Ian is a Principal at Partners Global and specializes in investment transactions of all asset classes, with a focus on multi-residential properties. Prior to joining Partners Global, Ian was a partner at international accounting firm Baker Tilly and specialized in strategic advisory and tax services. With 20 years as a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA), Ian has gained an extensive knowledge of the finance and business processes that underpin the commercial property market, uniquely positioning him to provide CFO/executive management services at both the asset management and Fund level.

Brian provides executive leadership at both RECan and PG Asset Management as well as maintaining overall responsibility for leasing within the RECan portfolio. Brian has successfully worked with clients on projects nationally and internationally through his strong network of partners and has further experience in asset management, property management, consulting, arbitration, marketing, budgeting, financial analyses and strategic planning.

Brian is the President and a founding principal partner of Partners Global, a leading corporate real estate advisory firm headquartered in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. With over 27 years of experience in the commercial real estate sector he leads the Partners Global Team, specializing in providing leasing and investment advisory services to his clients throughout all major markets in Canada and abroad.
